Alleged singer and actress Jessica Simpson totally could not be happier about her sister Ashleeeeeee’s new baby with husband Pete Wetz, Bronx Mowgli.

“Bronx is beyond precious,” the 28-year-old older sister and new aunt said in a statement. “I’m over the moon with joy. Life is a beautiful miracle.”

Ashlee and Pete and healthy, happy and enjoying every moment.”

We’re sure she is. When your “career” is deteriorating faster than Lindsay Lohan’s, any excuse to be in the news does the job! Yee-haw!

Bronx Mowgli Wentz - whose vitals are 7 pounds, 11 ounces, 20.5 inches long, and 9.5 on the Stupid Celebrity Baby Name Meter - was born Thursday night.

“Proud new parents Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz welcomed new son, Bronx Mowgli Wentz, late this evening,” a rep for the couple first announced on Friday morning. “[They] thank everyone for all of their well wishes!”

We knew former Virginia Tech and Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick was a pretty messed up dude. You know, with the whole dogfighting-ring thing.

But apparently it was even worse than thought.

In a new report in the ongoing investigation, a person known as confidential witness No. 1 says that Michael Vick actually placed family pets in the ring against pit bulls owned by his now-infamous “Bad Newz Kennelz” and watched the animals ruthlessly attack the domesticated dogs, causing “major injuries.”

The witness went on to say that Vick “thought it was funny to watch the pit bull dogs injure or kill the other dogs.” Sounds downright delightful to us.

A convicted co-defendant in the case said at times, he suggested dogs unwilling to fight be let go, but Vick insisted that “they got to go.” As in get killed.

This guy makes Ashley Dupre look like a sympathetic figure.

Mike Vick was sentenced to 23 months in prison in December 2007, and is set to be released from federal prison at Leavenworth, Kan., early in July 2009.

In an interview with Diane Sawyer on ABC’s 20/20, the hooker who serviced New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer opened up about the scandal that ended his career and made her a celebrity. She dispensed many deep thoughts such as the one above.

It’s all part of her ongoing publicity tour, as “that girl” gives interviews for the first time since the scandal broke in February. While the 20/20 piece isn’t that interesting, Ashley Dupre certainly does appear sincere in the emotions she expresses.

In the latest issue of Harper’s Bazaar, Lindsay Lohan reveals… nothing.

When asked by the magazine if she’s dating anyone, Lohan refused to name names.

“I think it’s pretty obvious who I’m seeing,” the actress said, refusing to utter the name Samantha Ronson for some reason. “I think it’s no shock to anyone that it’s been going on for quite some time. … She’s a wonderful person and I love her very much.”

Lohan was equally open throughout the rest of the interview. Has she ever with a girl named Courtenay Semel before? “I don’t know. Maybe.”

Is she a bisexual? “Maybe. Yeah.”

Is she a lesbian? “No.”

Wait… what?

“I don’t want to classify myself,” Lohan said. “First of all, you never know what’s going to happen — tomorrow, in a month, a year from now, five years from now… I appreciate people, and it doesn’t matter who they are, and I feel blessed to be able to feel comfortable enough with myself that I can say that.”

On a day that saw her son Jayden James hospitalized after eating something bad back home in Louisiana, Britney Spears also received some good news.

With her career comeback in full swing, it was announced Monday that the 26-year-old was nominated for an award - and one people will actually vote on!

After racking up some big wins at the hilariously rigged and meaningless MTV VMAs, Spears is up for a People’s Choice Award for How I Met Your Mother.

The category? “Favorite scene-stealing star.” She’s certainly that.

Brit Brit is up against Luke Perry and Robin Williams, both of whom were nominated for their guest appearances on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

The star played a dorky receptionist named Abby in two episodes of the CBS show. On the first, in March, she helped HIMYM score its best ratings ever.

Spears has been on a tear professionally, receiving huge applause when she performed at Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet concert in L.A. (above) last week.

Her new single, “Womanizer,” not only features Britney Spears nude - it hit #1 on the Hot 100 Billboard chart in October - her first #1 song since 1999!

Monday afternoon: How many people were thinking about Adrienne Bailon nude? Hundreds of thousands of drooling celebrity gossip readers.

Coincidence? No way. This Cheetah Girl was well-versed in the nude photo game long before she showed her spots (and ample, bare a$$) to the world.

Consider that her boyfriend is none other than Rob Kardashian, brother of Kim, and that her employer is Disney, corporate pimp of one Vanessa Hudgens.

It was Vanessa Hudgens’ nude photo scandal who paved the way for Bailon’s. After her nude pics (supposedly intended for Drake Bell, on a side note, not Zac Efron) appeared online, many called for the High School Muscial star’s firing.

Hudgens survived. And became a much bigger star because of it.

It appears Adrienne Bailon followed this formula to the letter, manufacturing some story about “laptop theft” and “personal” pictures meant “to surprise her boyfriend on their anniversary.” This paints her as a victim, but still kind of sweet. Diabolical.

The photos themselves - she’s still wearing her bra, and not showing any frontal nudity, only that fine booty - are just vanilla enough to ensure she keeps her job, but plenty titillating enough to earn a few million new fans online. Pure genius.

Just how stupid do you think Adrienne Bailon is?

Granted, in this celebrity gossip-based, technological age, all leaked naked photos should be considered a publicity stunt. But Bailon is close friends with Kim Kardashian; she was rumored to replace Vanessa Hudgens in the High School Musical franchise after that Disney star was embroiled in a nude picture scandal.

With such tight-knit, racy connections, do you really think Adrienne would be so transparent as to purposely release her own lewd photos?

The public would be on to her in a heartbeat. This is a nation that just voted Barack Obama into the White House. It’s not nearly as ignorant as critics often believe.

Moreover, Adrienne Bailon is a self-made star. She doesn’t need naked pictures to make it big. Let’s not forget how this singer was discovered:

She was singing with her church - her church, readers! - choir in Madison Square Garden when Ricky Martin asked that the four best singers be selected to sing back up at his concert that night. Bailon was chosen for this honor.

That’s right, Bailon relied on her vocal chords to make a name for herself. Only a true cynic would think she’d need to abandon those in favor of a bare backside in order to take the next step.

The children of President-Elect Barack Obama, Malia and Sasha, are rumored to be entering the world of entertainment.

Billy Ray Cyrus told Access Hollywood this week that the adorable children have been invited to appear on a future episode of Hannah Montana.

“The invitation is there,” Cyrus said, although an Obama insider denies knowledge of such an offer. “You know the Hannah Montana film comes out in April. Maybe something might happen around then.”

How does Miley Cyrus feel about the future First Kids?

“They are kind of like me before I started my own career,” she said.

It’s difficult to ascertain the similarities between Miley and the children picture above, except for the fact that the former was once their age.

But if appearing on TV means that Sasha and Malia will eventually wear promise rings, pose for racy, quasi girl-on-girl pictures and date a 20-year old such as Justin Gaston, well, we hope this isn’t change either child can believe in.

Attention, John Mayer fans, all four of you: There’s no need to worry. He’s doing okay and refuting recent claims that he’s taken on a “depressive demeanor.”

“I am not darker, angrier or moodier these days. In fact, it’s just the opposite,” the douchebag writes on his official blog, adding that his recent pattern of playfully engaging the paparazzi was just a phase he has now put an end to.

“All that’s happened is that I have given up on trying to find a way to use unwanted media as a form of entertainment. It still was worth a try.”

“A walk to the car isn’t the best time to analyze my mood or my disposition, so you’ll probably always get a bad read from it,” the crooner laments.

“The decision to slide on and off your radar isn’t so much my own anymore. But I’m too young to stomp my feet about it,” Mayer continues. “All I can do is concentrate on keeping my heart and soul correct and then redecorate around it.”

Sounds like a line straight out of The Hills.

Mayer split from Jennifer Aniston in August, then rekindled their romance last month, with the couple celebrating his 31st birthday together.

The bogus pregnancy rumors followed shortly thereafter.

At long last, a lack of Justin-Bobby drama. Minus only 2, because we find ourselves sort of missing the entertainment he provides, much as we loathe him.

Plus 10 for airing an episode centered around Whitney Port, and for Whitney Port being particularly expressive (even by her standards). When Kelly said they’d be putting on six shows instead of two, her eyes widened to the size of dinner plates.

This isn’t the first time Spencer has cornered Brent out of the blue, and he looks pretty darn surprised and annoyed, telling Spencer off and leaving him uncharacteristically speechless, suggesting that not everything on The Hills is faked. Plus 5.

We sort of feel bad for Alex the model, but if he’s not going to be even a little assertive, how can we? Gotta step it up next time, guy. Minus 2.

After Adam invites Whitney and Lauren Conrad to a party, we were introduced to his friend, handsome Australian singer Jay. Minus 4, because as cool as he seems, we already know he’s Jay Lyon, and he once dated Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr. The Hills lagging behind real life by three months kills some of the effect at times.

Who else is psyched for The City, though? Plus 10.

Jennifer Aniston will make an hilarious guest-starring appearance on 30 Rock this week.

But the actress doesn’t think a recent Angelina Jolie comment was a laughing matter.

In a recent interview, Jolie told a reporter that she fell in love with Brad Pitt during the shooting of Mr. & Mrs. Smith… while he was still married to Aniston! Ouch!

Now, in an article for the December issue of Vogue, the former Friends star is sort of firing back.

“There was stuff printed [in that Jolie interview] that was definitely from a time when I was unaware that it was happening. I felt those details were a little inappropriate to discuss…. That was really uncool,” Anison said, referring to Angelina’s admission that she fell for a married man.

I will start by thanking the millions of visitors we have had over the past three years, as with an extremely heavy heart and tear soaked eyes, I must announce today that Celebrities.com as you have come to know and love it will no longer exist.

As we move into the next phase, I would like to thank everyone that has worked tirelessly on the site. A few people need and deserve special recognition.

Key Greene who, since starting here, has given everything she has. She has continuously brought you the best analysis of the latest celebrity news, through my nitpicking and many other demands.

Steve Brodersen and Henry Trappler: These men are the finest videographer and photographer, respectively, that I have ever met. Constant professionals, these two gentlemen not only get the best images and video, they are also wonderful to hang out with.

Larry Holzer: It’s difficult for me to thank him enough. He is one of the hardest working people I know, in any profession, and he has a heart of gold. Over the years, he let me tag along with him and those memories are some of my favorites.

E.L. Woody: My life will never be the same after knowing him. Through the good and bad, I have always been and will be grateful for the insight, candor, and camaraderie that he has given me.
