Recently Heather Locklear former star of “Melrose Place” has been going through the emotional wringer, checking herself into rehab for depression and anxiety in June, getting through treatment in July – only to find herself arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of prescription medication on September 28th. Now it’s looking like the arrest was totally fabricated:

“TMZ has discovered that Jill Ishkanian is the woman who called 911 on Heather Locklear for her DUI. And according to them, she also tipped off the paparazzi. This is a shady situation, especially when you consider Jill Ishkanian is a former US Weekly staffer who is under investigation for allegedly hacking into the tabloid’s computer system to locate celebrities.”

I’ve got to say that is some of the most underhanded nastiness I’ve seen in a long while, and that includes Adnan Ghalib and his little tape (at least Britney saw that one coming.) To follow Locklear around, looking for some dirt, eventually calling both the cops and the press down on an unsuspecting Heather was just plain mean.

Update: Current theories on Jill’s motives include business ties to Denise Richards, whom Ishkanian’s former company, a paparazzi agency called Sunset Photo & News, seemed to do a good deal of work with. D-Listed seems to be of the opinion that it’s this connection to Richards (who dated the “Melrose” stars ex husband) that motivated Jill to turn Heather in. But when questioned by Jossip on the possible connection Izhkanian responded:

“”I’m not getting into a pissing match with [TMZ head] Harvey Levin who has all his facts wrong” and instructed us to check with the police investigating the matter, or her attorney. “I’m willing to go through yet another controversy if it means that I saved the life of Heather Locklear, or some other person down the road that may have been affected by her condition behind the wheel. A condition that was not determined by myself, but by 3 CHP officers. The toxicology reports should be very telling indeed.””

At this point it still remains to be seen if Heather was under the influence of anything at the time of her arrest, preliminary test for alcohol came up negative but the additional testing will take three more weeks. But it must have sucked for Locklear to pull herself out of her depression only to find herself arrested. I can’t imagine It will be good for Heather’s recovery overall.
